Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.
About This Role
Compass Health Center is seeking an Intake Therapist within our Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs in our Silver Spring office. This role will work with Adolescent (12+) and adult patients in our Mood & Anxiety programs, as well as our specialty programs and services: School Refusal, Trauma, OCD/Complex Anxiety, Mental Health and Substance Use. We are seeking a Masters or Doctoral level therapist with a passion for intake assessment and desire to interface with patient families throughout the course of treatment.

Schedule: This is a hybrid position, rotating with other team members between 2-3 days per week remote
Role Type: This is a flex position that will consist of providing patients both Intake (80%) and Family Therapy (20%).
What You’ll Do:
- Complete initial intake evaluations for patients ages 12 and up to determine diagnosis and appropriateness of program
- Screen potential intakes and answer questions from families, providers, and potential patients
- Facilitate family sessions to a small caseload of assigned patients and their loved ones
- Provide guidance and support to patients and family members to help promote goals and encourage patients progress through the program.
- Provide direction to families about effective ways of supporting patients.
- Work with patients and families regarding appropriate referrals if treatment at Compass Health Center is not indicated during intake
- Interface with program directors during intake process regarding patient appropriateness for programming
- Provide individual therapy and case management for enrolled patients, as needed
- Participate in professional development activities
- Other duties, as assigned
Who You Are:
- Licensed Doctorate Level Psychologist, Masters Level Clinician with clinical license such as the LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc. (or very close to full clinical licensure)
- 2+ years of clinical experience conducting intake assessments and individual therapy (preferred)
- Have knowledge and experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as other empirically supported treatments
- Have previous experience with patients in crisis (preferred)
- Have worked in a PHP/IOP, residential, or inpatient setting (preferred)
