Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.
About This Role
We are seeking a Mental Health Professional to provide support to our Adolescent Program. If you are passionate about providing your patients with exemplary care, while being sensitive to their individual psychiatric conditions, you would be a great fit on our team. The hours for this role are 8am-4pm Monday through Friday.
Our location in Northbrook is our first and largest facility, and consists not only of our widest variety of programs, but also serves as a pilot site for many of our new treatment offerings.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide support for the learning environment
- Help manage crisis situations and support patients as they gain emotional regulation
- Communicate patient progress with team.
- Engage in frequent communication and collaboration with team members
- Chart progress of patients; complete all incident reports thoroughly and within 24 hours
- Check and respond to daily emails, voicemails and EMR messages.
- In collaboration with team, aid in development of individualized behavioral plans and contracts.
- Ensure transition room is organized and clear of all obstacles or anything that may impact patient/therapist safety
- Maintain organizational systems
- Manage sensory room and ensure skills “toolboxes” are set up for daily use
- Communicate patient requests with doctors/nurses/therapists/teachers
- Maintain patient privacy at all times
- Provide supervision for patients throughout the day
- Participate in crisis management, as needed
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Other responsibilities as assigned
You would be the ideal candidate, if you:
- Have two years’ experience working with adolescents
- Ability to quickly establish rapport with adolescents
- Experience successfully working with adolescents with significant emotional and behavioral needs
- Excellent time management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple demands simultaneously in a fast paced and changing environment
- Ability to maintain patient privacy at all times
- Bachelor’s Degree – preferred
