The Opportunity:

Our Discounts Team is building the next generation of promotions and discounts. As an Engineering Manager, you will complement the team in our goal to strive for self-organization. Following our leadership culture, you will facilitate them to drive decisions and act according to our simple principle: We are people, not resources.

Your Mission:

  • Prioritize your team’s health, working with our amazing team on a 1:1 level
  • Support your team members in their personal development and growth
  • Manage a Product Manager, and backend and frontend developers with a tech stack of Scala and React, running on k8s and using MongoDB and Elasticsearch in an Agile environment
  • Understand the landscape of the team’s domain to support and consult in personal- and team-related questions
  • Manage budget and personnel responsibility for the engineering roles within your team
  • Work closely with our Engineering Managers on other teams, Tech Leads, Agile Coaches, a HR Business Partner, and the CTO to ensure your team is supported and being developed.

What you need to succeed:

  • Experience leading people in a tech environment
  • Applied experience in software development and understanding of software architecture
  • Passion for software design and architecture with a heart in automation
  • Passion for teamwork
  • An excellent level of soft skills—most importantly, empathy
  • Comfortable raising issues and driving changes
  • Experience working within an Agile environment with focus on the customer view
  • Mentality to share and the aspiration to constantly improve yourself and learn about leadership, and new technologies and concepts
  • Experience in working with Continuous Integration systems ensuring software quality and allowing automatic releasing
  • General experience within the e-commerce space (nice to have)
