We are looking for a Director of Plan Operations to build and run our Plan Operations teams in Lehi and San Francisco.  This is a key leader within the Customer Experience team. You will have the rare opportunity to join a company early, contribute to scaling a large team, and set the foundation of our company's culture.  We are looking for a hands on leader with deep experience managing change across a large scale operational environment. 
The Plan Operations teams include Plan Policies, Plan Structure & Audits, Reporting/Data, Systems, Quality Assurance, and Plan Launch Operations.  These teams are critical in establishing the backbone for setting up and running our healthcare plans.

What you’ll do:

  • Build, lead and develop a high performing team 
  • Set and meet aggressive performance goals...driving performance, effectiveness and efficiencies 
  • Create, model, and improve processes to scale our operations while delivering an amazing customer experience 
  • Working cross-functionally with multiple Customer Experience teams, Legal, Product, Engineering, and Client Success
  • Monitor and ensure timely resolution of member and client inquiries
  • Help build and cultivate a culture of creativity, passion, drive, diversity and inclusiveness 
  • Drive for constant step-change improvements using your leadership skills, analytical abilities, and entrepreneurial grit 
  • Help us to become an employer of choice in Utah
  • Lead teams in Lehi and San Francisco

Oversee the strategy and day-to-day operations of the team including:

  • Appeals & other exception processes
  • Collective Health’s adjudication rules & definitions
  • Management and completion of external audits
  • Stop Loss operations and other reporting
  • Management of claims related Systems & data exchanges
  • Implementation and renewal of Client’s Plan Designs and all corresponding Plan Artifacts (SPDs, SBCs, and Portals) 

Your skills include: 

  • 10+ years experience in Health Plan Operations or Back-office Operations
  • 7+ years in leadership in an Operations environment 
  • Experience leading large teams across multiple sites
  • Experience managing complex work types
  • Experience building and implementing new processes and tools 
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication and change management skills coupled with the ability to influence cross-functionally 
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent 
  • Creative, passionate, and driven about building key business functions that transform customer and employee experiences
