Engineering Managers are the hub of information and communication within their team and across the software development teams. Part people manager, part project manager, they have a technical background and the ability to understand and advise on technical matters.
What you’ll do:
- Mentor, support and career plan with software developers on your team
- Managing performance for their team members with regular 1:1s and performance reviews
- Coordinating roadmap work with Product Managers and Staff Developers
- Raising concerns to R&D Leadership for team performance or roadmap delays
- Uphold the best practices and standards of the R&D organization
- Track, update and communicate project status
- Coordinate with Product Managers to ensure work is properly defined and ready to build
Who you are:
- Previous experience as a Software Developer
- Deep knowledge of all the steps of a Software Development Life Cycle
- Highly organized and ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively
- Experience working in a SaaS software organization
- Willingness to raise your hand when you see something could be done / built better
- Previous experience in people management an asset
- Consistent track record of building and maintaining highly scalable products would be considered an asset
