CodePath is a national non-profit that is reprogramming higher education to create the most diverse generation of software engineers, CTOs, and founders. We deliver industry-vetted courses and career support centered on the needs of Black, Latino/a, Indigenous, and low-income students. Our students train with senior engineers, intern at top companies, and rise together to become the tech leaders of tomorrow.
Founded in 2017, CodePath has taught over 20,000 students and delivered courses across over 85 universities. We are supported by some of the largest and most well-respected organizations, including Andreessen Horowitz, Blue Meridian Partners, Cognizant Foundation, Comcast, Google, Meta, Salesforce, Walmart, and Workday, among others.
We are currently targeted to serve 10,000+ students a year nationwide as of 2023, and are planning to scale up to ~100,000 students a year by 2030.
About the Role

Reports to: Director of Career Center
Compensation: $80,000 to $100,000 per year
As a member of the CodePath Career Center team, this role will focus on customizing programming and services to fit the needs of students and stakeholders in the local region. The Career Liaison is responsible for working closely with strategic partners and creating a culture of collaboration among a variety of stakeholders. The Career Liaison will foster connections to the CodePath Career Center and support the CodePath Local (CPL) program development.
This position will work to drive employment outcomes for students and support the successful completion of their CodePath course and related activities. This position will engage directly with faculty, staff, and academic advisors to support the local student cohort.
Responsibilities

Serve as career liaison to a specific region (Atlanta) connecting local students to CodePath programs and services

Deliver customized CodePath programming for local cohorts

Track and manage Career Center engagement for local cohorts

Provide accurate data collection for student engagement in CPL services
-
Provide just-in-time interventions to students to fit their career needs

Plan, implement, and conduct outreach workshops, presentations, and programs to educate and inform students, faculty/staff, and administrators about CodePath programs and Career Center services.

Advise and coach students individually or in groups regarding various types of work experience opportunities, resources, and job search strategies focused on competitive tech roles

Provide hybrid advising and programming to meet student demand

Work collaboratively with CodePath Community Engagement Managers to tailor programming and services to meet the needs of the local student population.

Coordinate local events to drive direct engagement between hiring CodePath partners and local student cohort

Build understanding of populations’ preferences, needs, and targeted support to drive internship and job outcomes.

Manage part-time local Career Coaches

Assist in facilitating, promoting, and expanding interaction with local industry employers to create and increase tech career-related work experience opportunities, e.g. internships, job treks, job shadowing, full-time roles
Note: While this position is primarily remote, there will be some in-person advising and programming as part of the work. The person hired must be located in the Atlanta area.
Qualifications

Established understanding of the tech industry and knowledge of best practices related to coaching students from Computer Science and related majors

At least 2 years of experience working directly in a career advising, recruiting, or coaching capacity with college-aged students

Experience working on programs with external stakeholders

Experience developing external partnerships (+ 1 if focused on tech)

Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of career coaching and student development.

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Experience presenting in a professional setting to both college-aged students and leadership

Experience utilizing a CRM

Demonstration of strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community, and the ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
