CodePath is a national non-profit that is reprogramming higher education to create the most diverse generation of software engineers, CTOs, and founders. We deliver industry-vetted courses and career support centered on the needs of Black, Latino/a, Indigenous, and low-income students. Our students train with senior engineers, intern at top companies, and rise together to become the tech leaders of tomorrow.
Founded in 2017, CodePath has taught over 20,000 students and delivered courses across over 85 universities. We are supported by some of the largest and most well-respected organizations, including Andreessen Horowitz, Blue Meridian Partners, Cognizant Foundation, Comcast, Google, Meta, Salesforce, Walmart, and Workday, among others.
We are currently targeted to serve 10,000+ students a year nationwide as of 2023, and are planning to scale up to ~100,000 students a year by 2030.
About the Role
Location: Remote
Duration: 8-12 weeks, variable
Reports To: Curriculum Developer
Salary Range: $75 per hour
This role is for a position on the contractor bench. At any time and dependent on your availability, you may be called upon to contribute to curriculum projects. Hiring does not guarantee immediate contract work.
Content Developers are responsible for creating labs and projects, writing student and instructor-facing content, and developing engaging slides under the leadership of a Curriculum Developer. In this role, you will contribute to the Android Development Pathway.
Android Development Pathway Syllabi:
You are a dynamic, inspiring technical expert with a desire to create culturally responsive curriculum and a passion for empowering students, particularly those who identify with underrepresented groups in tech. You have some experience as an educator and/or trainer who is interested in contributing to best-in-class curriculum for underestimated student populations.
Key Activities (may include any of the following):

Contribute to the planning for a development cycle

Create exemplars for projects and labs

Write instructions for projects and labs

Create grading rubrics and guidelines for assessment

Write unit overviews and collect unit resources

Push content updates to the course repo
Qualifications

Computer science (or related field) degree or comparable experience working in/learning Android Development
-
Experience developing Android apps in Kotlin
-
1+ year of professional experience employed in a Mobile App Development role (Android)

1+ years of teaching experience and/or TA experience
Preferred:

1+ years of curriculum development experience
