CodePath is a national non-profit that is reprogramming higher education to create the most diverse generation of software engineers, CTOs, and founders. We deliver industry-vetted courses and career support centered on the needs of Black, Latino/a, Indigenous, and low-income students. Our students train with senior engineers, intern at top companies, and rise together to become the tech leaders of tomorrow.
Founded in 2017, CodePath has taught over 20,000 students and delivered courses across over 85 universities. We are supported by some of the largest and most well-respected organizations, including Andreessen Horowitz, Blue Meridian Partners, Cognizant Foundation, Comcast, Google, Meta, Salesforce, Walmart, and Workday, among others.
We are currently targeted to serve 10,000+ students a year nationwide as of 2023, and are planning to scale up to ~100,000 students a year by 2030.

Compensation: $80,000 to $100,000 per year
The CodePath Local Strategy is to enable universities to achieve a 100% paid technical internship rate for their computing students by deeply integrating our proven playbook so that students don’t have to “op-in” for the support CodePath currently provides nationally.
The CodePath Engineering Fellowship is the proven model with which Codepath will engage local Colleges/Universities and computing students. The fellowship is built upon three key pillars:

The CodePath Engineering Fellow Course Sequence - A golden pathway course sequence of both “for-credit" and “non-credit” courses designed to prepare students to build the skills and confidence needed to secure Paid Internships as a core part of their student journey.

The Community Engagement Manager’s primary responsibility is to develop and nurture a thriving ecosystem in service of computing students in Atlanta to support our first iteration of our CodePath Local strategy. In this new role, the CEM will be responsible for developing and implementing in-person and digital strategies to engage, nurture and retain university students into our Engineering Fellowship as well as representing CodePath with other philanthropic organizations, state/local governments and corporate partners in Atlanta.
For CodePath, a vibrant community or ecosystem is one where Fellows are engaging with each other in and outside of the classroom, corporate partners are excited about providing opportunities/events and Fellow’s are developing their personal agency, fostering leadership skills, and receiving guidance toward success in their chosen goals.
As a founding team member of our Local team, the CEM will be the owner of our Student Community Engagement pillar in Atlanta and all the marketing and communications associated with students in the Engineering Fellowship. Below is a list of activities that we envision the CEM will perform to recruit, enroll and keep students engaged in the CodePath Engineering Fellowship and ultimately create a vibrant community.
Key Activities

Develop and maintain a CodePath Engineering Fellow communications strategy

Create and distribute regional specific content

Plan and execute student engagement events or programs (Demo Days, Hackathons, etc.)

Support corporate partner student engagement through coordinating site visits or “ask the expert '' presentations, etc

Develop and maintain a Social Media strategy for engaging fellows and highlighting CodePath regional corporate partners in Atlanta

Develop and manage relationships with campus club leaders, non-profit partners and key influencers to market CodePath’s programs and services

Track and evaluate the impact of engagement efforts and make recommendations for improvement
Qualifications

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.

Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

A proactive and resourceful mindset, with a willingness to take initiative and problem-solve independently.

Adept at learning and leveraging the latest productivity tools to drive operational efficiency, such as Airtable, ChatGPT, Zapier, CRMs, and various no-code and low-code tools.

Proficiency in Google Docs and Microsoft Office Suite
