We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Content Strategist & Copywriter to elevate our content marketing initiatives, and connect with buyers at every stage of their journey with Coconut.
Motivated by a challenge, you’re inquisitive and empathetic, and know how to dig-in to understand the way our buyers think and what they care about. You’ll leverage your industry experience to communicate a strong point of view to attract people to our brand, and create insightful content that helps buyers make sense of the market, the options available to them—and ultimately, why they should purchase Coconut Software.
While you’ll have a hand in developing our content strategy, we aren’t an ivory tower kind of team - and need someone who is keen to roll-up their sleeves up to create clear, crisp, simple and compelling copy/content that sounds human. You will also have agency support for content creation - but we’re big on having a hands-on approach to our work!
In this role, you’ll be excited to:
Understand our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) to Create Content That Engages & Inspires, and Contribute to our Brand Story/Narrative
- Know Coconut’s ICP and buyers inside out. Partner with the sales, success & product/demand marketing to identify the key trends, themes and content opportunities for engaging buyers at each stage through multi-channel demand gen programs.
- Evolve our brand narrative/story (topline messaging): Work with CMO and Directors of Demand/Product Marketing to solidify Coconut’s point of view, and turn it into a compelling story that sets the stage for, ‘Why Change?’, ‘Why Now?’ and, ‘Why Coconut?’
Own Coconut’s Content: Strategy & Development
- Develop and execute content marketing strategies targeting prospects through various channels, including social media, email, blogs, and other digital platforms.
- Ensure we provide the right content, to the right people, at the right times across the buyer journey to create, capture and nurture demand.
- Partner with our external agencies & manage relationships to outsource effectively.
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end content creation process, ensuring content is delivered on time, is optimized for SEO, and adheres to voice, style and brand guidelines.
- Oversee owned/earned media channels (Social & PR)
- Measure and analyze the performance of content campaigns using relevant metrics and adjust strategies as needed to achieve business objectives
Be our Brand Voice Expert
- Oversee our brand voice/tone & keep things consistent and manage our guidelines and review assets as needed.
What you Bring to the Team:
- 5-8+ years of experience devising content strategy and writing content to fuel B2B demand gen programs designed to hit pipeline & revenue goals
- Background in journalism and/or agency experience
- Multi-channel content marketing experience: you’ve written for various formats and channels including web, blog, social media (LinkedIn, twitter, Facebook), video, paid advertising, webinars, executive presentations...both short/long-form content
- Deep understanding of content marketing strategies and distribution tactics
- Ability to write and communicate big ideas simply & clearly—in a friendly, approachable and likable way
- Experience writing with SEO best practices + keywords in mind
- Experience with martech including MAPs (Pardot, Marketo), content platforms (PathFactory, Uberflip), website CMS (wordpress) and project management software (Asana, Wrike)
- Portfolio of B2B work that you are proud of will be reviewed
