Named America’s best boutique agency of 2021 and 2022, CLYDE is seeking an Account Supervisor, Strategic Communications to join our growing public relations and communications agency. CLYDE is an impact agency. Account Supervisors help shape and execute strategies for two or more clients (depending on the size of accounts). Account Supervisors oversee account teams or client projects and initiatives, implementing creative strategies for key audiences. Account Supervisors proactively bring forward ideas to advance client accounts, and confidently report metrics to demonstrate outcomes over outputs. Account Supervisors are at a stage in their career where they are developing an industry or communications-area expertise. Account Supervisors play a meaningful role in business development, including helping to draft RFP responses, pitch to future clients in new business presentations, and tap personal networks for potential client opportunities.

What you will be doing:

  • Serve as a key member of multiple client teams to craft effective communication strategies, and ensure that excellent work is completed on time
  • Become an expert in your clients’ industries so that you can anticipate client needs and advise clients on industry trends and current events. Particularly interested if you have experience in the following industries:
    • Education
    • Tech
    • ESG/Environment
    • Real Estate
    • Financial Services
  • Supervise regular client calls, finding opportunities for junior team members to speak and stepping in as needed
  • Develop personal relationships with clients and are able to comfortably and confidently reach out to them through multiple forms of communication
  • Assign client responsibilities to client teams with clear direction and deadlines
  • Ensure all client deadlines are met, and quality of work is high
  • Work closely and respectfully with internal teams, including creative, digital, and content
  • Form and manage relationships with internal and external partners, including vendors
  • Propose new and creative ideas as needed to achieve client outcomes
  • Track account budgets and adjust workflow as needed to ensure client profitability
  • Play an active role in the business development process for future clients by joining new business teams to respond to RFPs and presenting to clients
  • Depending on agency needs, manage one to two direct reports and work as a mentor to advance their professional skills
  • Provide meaningful constructive feedback to more senior team members

Qualifications/Required Skills:

  • 4-6 years of communications experience; agency experience preferred
  • Ability to manage people, mentor junior team members, and lead/motivate teams
  • Experience leading media campaigns and media outreach efforts 
  • Experience running accounts, developing strategy, and elevating client relationships
  • Comfortable working with data and translating the data to media stories/angles
  • Possesses excellent writing and grammar skills, including the ability to write concisely, clearly, and logically
  • Ability to spot inefficiencies and streamline work efforts within your account teams, providing feedback so junior team members can learn and improve their skills 
  • Excellent multi-tasker
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Comfortable with basic social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter/X
  • Comfortable with Microsoft and Google office products
  • Comfortable learning and adopting new tech platforms
  • Professional and mature demeanor in working with peers and more junior team members directly to solve problems, address issues, and diffuse internal challenges
