POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the increasingly complex activities across sales audit, accounts receivable, fixed assets, store leases, inventory, revenue, accruals and other areas including the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant financial reports.  Related duties include ensuring ledger entries and account reconciliations are prepared correctly and timely.  This position assists in period-end close and will be responsible for assisting in reporting, analytics and forecasts/budgets.  

RESPONSIBILITIES           

  • Responsible for general accounting duties including leading and participating in period-end close including analyzing data and GL accounts, preparing journal entries, etc.
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts 
  • Perform financial analysis and generate conclusions and recommendations 
  • Ensure compliance to GAAP and company standards and controls 
  • Comply with legal and ethical standards 
  • Follow up on all outstanding issues on a timely basis 
  • Maintain excellent customer service with internal and external partners 
  • Assist with special projects and department goals 
  • Proactively identify areas of opportunity /weakness and recommend solutions
  • Supervision of accountants and other Accounting / Finance staff

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of related financial analysis, audit or accounting experience (prior experience in a retail environment is a plus)
  • Big 4 or regional firm public accounting experience is preferred
  • Expertise in generally accepted accounting practices with CPA certification preferred
  • Ability to build partnerships across departments and partners 
  • Comfortable working in dynamic and fast-paced environment with ability to be flexible
  • Position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience including analysis of mass data sets, Vlookups, pivot tables and formulas are required 
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP and inventory module experience is preferred but not required 
  • Ability to prepare work accurately and timely
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Career-oriented with Interest in advancement

EDUCATION      

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Accounting is required with a CPA preferred

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Club Monaco includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This accounts for the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications.

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $90,000 per year to $110,000 per year.
