About the Department
Account Executives, Business Development Representatives, Solution Engineers, Customer Success, and Sales Operations - all working together help our customers adopt Cloudflare and create great Internet-enabled experiences.
The sales team at Cloudflare helps customers solve real, technical problems while creating the revenue streams that help the company provide free service to millions in our community.
We are looking for a Solutions Engineer to join our team. You will work closely with our Enterprise customers to ensure their success on the Cloudflare platform. Responsibilities will include: onboarding new customers, developing technical documentation on Cloudflare’s architecture/feature set, developing a deep expertise in Cloudflare’s technology, and being a subject matter expert on web/mobile security and performance: for example performing log analysis of HTTP/S traffic and then developing web application firewall rules. The onboarding process may include creating or repurposing custom tools for customer use as they provision the service.
As a Solutions Engineer, you will utilize your technical expertise to ensure customer happiness by providing strategic post-sales support. You will work closely with Sales, Technical Support, and the Technical Operations team responsible for running our global, distributed network, as well as provide Product with valuable customer input. You should be passionate about technology and have a knack for explaining complex technical concepts in easy to understand terms.
Additionally, you should be naturally curious and not afraid afraid to get your hands dirty. There are many opportunities and directions to explore within the company, and it’s up to you to determine what makes you most passionate.
As a Solutions Engineer, you will have the opportunity to create and scale solutions that help our customers realize the full promise of Cloudflare. Up to 25% International travel may be required.
Experience navigating and working with large Enterprise IT organizations throughout Latin American Region
Significant experience developing internet applications and/or hosting infrastructure architectures.
Familiarity with Linux Understanding of DNS, IP, routing protocols, hosting infrastructure (load balancers, firewalls, IDS/P, etc)
Experience with nginx, apache, and/or IIS
Strong communication skills that allow you to be a bridge between customers and the engineering team
Scripting skills or the desire to learn them. Some light dev work is required, and more is encouraged if it’s something you enjoy doing!
Bilingual or Trilingual (English/Portuguese, English/Spanish/Portuguese)
Position based in New York
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math or related field
Understanding of application, server, and network security
Experience meeting regulatory requirements such as HIPAA or PCI
Consulting experience encouraged
