At Cloudflare, we have our eyes set on an ambitious goal: to help build a better Internet. Today, Cloudflare runs one of the world’s largest distributed networks that powers more than 1.5 trillion pageviews each month across 6 million Internet properties. More than 10 percent of all global Internet requests flow through Cloudflare’s network. Cloudflare protects and accelerates any Internet application online without adding hardware, installing software, or changing a line of code.

Our customers range from Fortune 500 companies and nonprofits to small businesses and budding entrepreneurs. Every day, about 12,000 new customers sign up. We’re working to create a faster, more secure, and more reliable experience for anyone online and given the scale at which we operate, our mission is big. Our team is hard at work shaping the future of the Internet by solving some of its toughest challenges. Come join us.

What do Support Operations do?

The Support Operations Group is a high-impact, self-contained engineering team. We are responsible for building intelligent automation systems that allow our customers to get maximum value out of the Cloudflare product, whilst providing tooling that enhances business efficiency for our internal customer facing teams.

We work in an Extreme Programming environment with a heavy focus on short iterations, a sustainable pace and self-testing code. We are a small team team meaning you will have the opportunity to make a substantial impact from day one.

What will you work on?

In this team you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of diverse greenfield projects; like building backend systems to provide proactive recommendations for our customers, creating automated debugging tools for our customer support team and building data analytics tooling that allows our business teams to understand our customer base better. In this role, you'll be able to learn, research and implement state-of-the-art technologies in fields like Search Based Software Engineering and Operational Research. Given the diverse nature of the Cloudflare product and the wide technical focus of the team, you will have an opportunity to build upon multiple different technologies.

Requirements

  • A Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or an engineering/quantitative discipline
  • Knowledge of at least one object-oriented or functional programming language, especially Python, Go or Haskell
  • An understanding of the importance of self-testing software
  • Curiosity and a passion for learning
  • It is advantageous, but not required, to have exposure to CI build systems, Docker or development in UNIX environments

What Makes Us Special

We’re not just a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company. We’re a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company with a soul. Fundamental to our mission to help build a better Internet is protecting the free and open Internet. In 2014, we launched Project Galileo, an initiative through which we partner with global NGOs to identify websites at risk of attack and provide the same state-of-the-art mitigation technology already used by Cloudflare’s enterprise customers--at no cost. Project Galileo equips politically and artistically important organizations and journalists with powerful tools to defend themselves against attacks that would otherwise censor their work.

Additionally, in 2016, we announced our partnership with Path Forward, a nonprofit organization that works with companies to create 18-week positions for mid-career professionals who want to get back to the workplace after taking time off to care for a child, parent, or loved one. With the lofty goal of shaping the future of the Internet, we’re focused on recruiting the best and the brightest, no matter what.

Cloudflare hires the best people based on an evaluation of their abilities and effectiveness. We don't discriminate against employees on the basis of any other personal characteristic or any classification protected by federal, state or local law.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

Because we do business with the government, we must reach out to, hire, and provide equal opportunity to qualified people with disabilities1. To help us measure how well we are doing, we are asking you to tell us if you have a disability or if you ever had a disability. If you are applying for a job, any answer you give will be kept private and will not be used against you in any way.

If you already work for us, your answer will not be used against you in any way. Because a person may become disabled at any time, we are required to ask all of our employees to update their information every five years. You may voluntarily self-identify as having a disability on this form without fear of any punishment because you did not identify as having a disability earlier.

How do I know if I have a disability?
