Job Summary:

The purpose of this position at the Clinton Presidential Center (CPC) is to provide a presidential experience and outstanding customer service to all visitors.  The individual who serves in this role will largely function as a brand ambassador while performing the functional roles of the position and of the various work assignments.  As a Clinton Presidential Center brand ambassador, the appointee will represent and promote the Clinton Library to our many guests.  Highly effective brand ambassadors will demonstrate expertise in many areas including customer engagement and the deployment of communication skills that will reinforce the guest experience.  The appointee needs to actively listen, internalize what the guests communicate, and then take appropriate solution-based action based on what they hear from the customer.

  • Must be able to work effectively with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to multi-task and work as a team or to work independently.
  • Ability to learn cash register and point-of-sale operations.

  • Must demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with museum guests in a knowledgeable and positive way.

  • Have knowledge of the museum’s permanent and temporary exhibits.
  • Must be available to work on Monday – Friday and on weekends; plus, holidays on which the museum is open.

We are located on the banks of the Arkansas River at the intersection of Little Rock’s River Market District and the emerging East Village in the heart of downtown. The Clinton Center features permanent exhibitions that chronicle American history at the turn of the 21st century, engaging and family-friendly special exhibitions, 30-acres of public par, an award-winning on-sit restaurant, and museum tore with a selection of unique memorabilia and gifts.


Essential Functions and Duties:

Admissions:

  • Responsible for the physical opening and closing of the museum’s admissions desk and for setting up the station for the day’s business.
  • Responsible for providing each visitor with outstanding customer service, by greeting all visitors pleasantly, answering general questions, assisting with their needs, and answering the main telephone line.
  • Process general admissions sale and perform daily cash register reconciliations. This includes verifying the accuracy of customer category for each sale processed.  Plus, it also includes accurately processing each cash or credit card sale.
  • Process group tour payments. This includes verifying the accuracy of the count, collecting the payment, and distributing admissions stickers as appropriate.
  • When appropriate, promote CPC membership by providing guests with the rack card that directs them to the membership page of the Clinton Foundation website.
  • Share information about the museum, special events, and daily activities.

 

Museum Store:

  • Responsible for the physical opening and closing of the museum’s store.
  • Responsible for providing exceptional customer service and product knowledge.
  • Engaging with customers to make suggestions and assist in product selection.
  • Responsible for opening, closing, and operating a cash register accurately.
  • Responsible for keeping the store orderly, clean, folding t-shirts, pricing inventory and restocking inventory.
  • Printing and emailing Oval Office photos.
  • Share any promotions and product information.
  • Have knowledge of the museum’s permanent and temporary exhibits.
  • Responsible for fielding and handling telephone calls to the museum store.

 

Oval Office:

  • Responsible for the physical opening and closing of the Oval Office.
  • Responsible for providing each visitor with presidential experience in the Oval Office.
  • Responsible for inviting guests to enter the Oval Office to have their pictures taken while posing as POTUS at the Resolute Desk.
  • Make sure the photo equipment is running.
  • Keep the Oval Office clean and tidy.
  • Work with volunteers to welcome visitors into the Oval Office.
  • Responsible for displaying characteristics of extroversion, including behaviors such as being dynamic, assertive, being expressive and exhibiting outgoing patterns of conduct, pro-actively engaging in conversation, and representing confidence in approaching others.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • The successful candidate will have demonstrable success in communications, customer relations skills, and working collaboratively with visitors, donors, members, volunteers, and staff. Must present a professional demeanor.
  • Two – 2+ years of retail sales experience preferred.
  • Experience with computers in support of retail sales and admissions sales.
  • Evidence of the ability to be a self-starter, to work independently, and to solve problems.

 

Essential Physical Demands

  • Museum Environment: Frequent lifting, bending, pulling, and filling. Which may be heavy (15 lbs.) and require carts. Frequent standing and walking. Frequent computer work requiring repetitive motion, prolonged sitting and sustained visual/mental demands.
