About the Opportunity

The purpose of this Senior Education Programs Associate is to help support the success of the Clinton Presidential Center’s educational programs.  Under the direction of the Education Programs Manager, the scope of work for the position is defined by assisting in: 

  • Creating, developing, and implementing new and innovative Pre-K-12 student and educator programs. 
  • Coordinating the administration of PreK-2 student field trips, including managing scheduling platforms and updating databases; communicating with school educators and administrators; training docents to lead PreK – 12 student tours; working with the Visitor and Volunteer Services team to schedule trained docents to lead tours. 
  • Building relationships with educators state-wide to grow audience and promote student and educator programming.  
  • Creating and implementing accessible and inclusive outreach programs, identifying new and cultivating existing relationships with community partners and individuals. 
  • Creating and assisting with developing civic engagement programs and events, including researching and writing the content for the programs, creating lesson plans, working with partners, coordinating logistics, and implementing programs. 
  • Coordinating civic engagement programs such as but not limited to the Student Presidential Leaders Series; coordinating with staff and participants to ensure ideal operating conditions of civic engagement and programs. 
  • In developing content for personalized outreach and promotional strategies to advance the educational mission of the Center (materials, website content, lesson plans, monthly and quarterly e-newsletters, targeted e-invites, etc.) and assisting in maintaining an up-to-date database of educators; mass emailing, assists in collection and organization of documents from program participants, etc. 
  • Establish and cultivate working relationships/partnerships with the Clinton Presidential Library (NARA) and other cultural agencies.  
  • The external impact of this position will maintain the high-level educator/student experience with the highest caliber of professionalism, help to increase the number of educational program visitors, and deepen the data-driven understanding of the success of our programs.

Core Responsibilities

In this role you will/are:

  • Under the direction of the Educational Programs Manager (EPM), assists in planning, developing, and implementing new and innovative educational programs/events, tours, and workshops, including researching and writing the content for the programs, lesson plans, supporting intern(s), etc.
  • Developing and implementing outreach and promotional strategies to advance the educational mission of the Center (materials, website content, lesson plans, monthly e-newsletter, targeted e-invites, etc.) to generate new and retain repeat attendance at educational programs and tours; assist in maintaining an up-to-date database of educators; mass emailing; assists in collection and organization of documents from program participants, etc.
  • Coordinates with Volunteer and Visitor Services Department and National Archives Education Specialist in effectively communicating and scheduling educators and school groups for programs and tours as well as updating databases and training and scheduling volunteers to lead educational tours.
  • Assists the EPM in clerical duties that include budgeting, receipt tracking, and necessary follow-up communication.

Minimum Qualifications 

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor of Arts (Anthropology, Communications, Education, Languages [all], Geography, History, Linguistics, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Religious Studies, Sociology)
  • Preferred: Master of Arts (Museum Studies, Education, History)
  • Minimum Work Experience Required: at least 3 years of professional experience in the field.
  • Preferred: 5 years
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating and delivering K-12 educational content in a classroom, informal education, or museum setting (curriculum/content development, lesson planning, advanced training).
  • Superior knowledge in external relationship and program management, and superior organization skills are preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

Our best estimate of the compensation range for this opportunity is $44 - $47.5K annually, depending on the experience you bring. This role is eligible for overtime pay.
