About the Opportunity

The Mental Health Action Network (MHAN) Fellow is a two-year position responsible for leading and coordinating CGI’s Mental Health Action Network strategy and activities, in close collaboration with CGI partners Kokoro, McKinsey Health Institute, and Wellcome Trust. The Mental Health Action Network is meant to instate meaningful action and achieve progress in scaling mental health to address the severe global mental health crisis across three key areas of mental health innovation outlined in a whitepaper by McKinsey Health Institute and Kokoro: integration, metrics, and financing. Objectives of the Mental Health Action Network include: identifying best practices and opportunities that, if scaled, will advance their pathway to improve mental health; mobilizing funders across different sectors to take action; charting a roadmap to impact (co-created with Kokoro, Wellcome Trust, CGI, and MHI with clear outcomes to be defined) in the lead up to CGI’s Annual Meetings; and launching Commitments to Action that will support implementation of the roadmap. As the first Fellow to lead this Action Network, you will play a leading role in defining the Action Network’s near-term actions to drive its long-term priorities.

With CGI, Kokoro, McKinsey Health Institute and Wellcome Trust as the founding members of the Mental Health Action Network, the MHAN Fellow will facilitate coordination and collaboration across organizations to advance the development of the MHAN structure and implementation of its activities. The individual in this role will have the opportunity to build upon existing partnerships as well as build new ones across industries and sectors that can contribute to the reduction of inequities in mental health, so as to build a strong network of various stakeholders that can uphold the purpose and objectives of the MHAN.

The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) convenes global and emerging leaders to create and implement solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. CGI works with partners to drive action through its unique model. Rather than directly implementing projects, CGI facilitates action by helping members connect, collaborate, and develop Commitments to Action — new, specific, and measurable plans that address global challenges.
