We are looking for a dynamic person to join our team as a Senior Data Scientist with at least a decade of specialized experience in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Production Automation/Optimization techniques within the Contract Research Organization (CRO) industry. Over the years, this individual has melded domain-specific expertise in clinical research with advanced analytical capabilities to drive innovation and enhance the efficacy of clinical trials.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Data Exploration: Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, or
significant structures in clinical data. - Feature Engineering: Transform and engineer data features to enhance the performance
of AI/ML/NLP models, using domain knowledge of clinical trials in drug and medical devices
development. - Model Training & Validation: Continuously train, validate, and fine-tune models to ensure
robustness and relevance. Implement cross-validation, hyperparameter tuning, and other
optimization techniques. - Collaborative Projects: Lead cross-functional projects, collaborating with clinicians,
pharmacologists, regulatory specialists, and IT teams to ensure cohesive execution. - Model Interpretability: Work on making complex models interpretable and
understandable to non-experts, especially when results have significant clinical
implications. - Regular Updates: Conduct periodic presentations and training sessions for stakeholders,
sharing insights, and educating on the significance and implications of findings.
Key Qualifications:
- Advanced Expertise: Mastery over a wide range of AI/ML/NLP methodologies,
ensuring optimal model selection and implementation based on specific project
requirements. - Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of the clinical trials landscape, including
regulatory compliance, data management practices, trial phases, and the unique
challenges posed by the industry. - Project Management: Demonstrated ability to lead complex data-centric projects from
conception to completion, liaising with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external
partners, mastered clear documentation methodologies with guarantee to apply your work
experience in a simple and readable format to satisfy regulatory requirements. - Technical Proficiency: Expertise in popular AI/ML/NLP frameworks and tools like
TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and NLTK. Comfortable working with big data
technologies and Windows Azure cloud platform. - Research & Development: History of pioneering research initiatives that enhance trial
outcomes, patient recruitment strategies, drug efficacy and medical devices predictions
using AI/ML/NLP techniques.

- Data Wrangling: Proficiency in handling, cleaning, and preprocessing diverse datasets,
especially those common in clinical trials, to make them suitable for AI/ML/NLP
applications. - Model Development: Designing, building, testing, and deploying predictive or analytical
models tailored to address specific challenges in clinical trials, such as patient recruitment,
adverse event prediction, or data analysis from patient narratives. - NLP Expertise: Extracting insights from unstructured text data like patient medical
records, clinical notes, or literature, using advanced AI/ML/NLP and Automation
techniques. - Collaboration: Working closely with biostatisticians, clinical researchers, and regulatory teams
to ensure alignment of AI/ML/NLP and Automation Optimization projects with clinical
objectives and compliance standards. - Communication: Exceptional ability to translate technical findings and insights into
actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders. - Continuous Learning: Given the rapid advancements in the AI/ML/NLP field, this individual
has consistently stayed abreast of new methodologies, tools, and techniques ensuring the
ClinChoice remains at the forefront.
Skills:
- Diverse Algorithmic Knowledge: Expertise across a wide spectrum of machine learning
techniques including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, reinforcement
learning, and ensemble methods. - Statistical Proficiency: Deep understanding of statistical testing, high-dimensional data
analysis, multivariate analysis, and optimization techniques. - Advanced AI/ML/NLP and Optimization Techniques: Mastery over sentiment analysis,
entity recognition, machine translation, topic modeling, and text summarization.
Familiarity with state-of- the-art models like OpenAI, BERT, and their derivatives. - Computational Skills: Proficient in high-performance computing, parallel processing, and
GPU optimization for handling large datasets and training complex models. - Regulatory & Ethical Acumen: Comprehensive understanding of data privacy laws considerations in clinical trials, and guidelines specific to patient data.
Criteria of previous success:
- Pioneered the integration of AI/ML/NLP techniques that automated the extraction and
categorization of adverse events from patient narratives, enhancing report accuracy and
speeding up regulatory submissions. - Developed predictive algorithms that identified potential trial risks, resulting in initiative taking
issue resolution and ensuring trial continuity. - Collaborated on the multi-center projects, integrating data from various global sites, and
employed ML algorithms to harmonize and analyze the combined dataset, uncovering
insights that individual sites missed. - Attended and presented in leading AI/ML/NLP and clinical research conferences,
workshops, and seminars, ensuring the transfer of the latest knowledge back to the
organization. - Mentored junior data scientists and interns, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, innovation, and ethical research within the organization.
- Led internal hackathons and ideation sessions to promote the use of AI/ML/NLP in solving
emergent clinical trial challenges.
