Product events are at the heart of all product and user insights. Our squads rely on accurate and up-to-date data to measure their features' success and to build a better product. An ideal candidate should have experience designing event collection and using product events. Our event stack is Segment, Amplitude, Snowflake, Tableau, Hex. Similarly, across the organization we collect data from various services and systems that require a champion to manage and drive successfully.

In this dynamic and rapidly evolving digital landscape, the seamless coordination and efficient management of tasks and projects have become paramount. This role will be instrumental in assisting and empowering ClickUp, a cutting-edge productivity platform, to thrive and provide top-notch solutions. The Role:
  • In this role, you will lead and own our data event instrumentation and collection strategy and its execution, including:
  • Champion Data Integrity: Lead QA efforts, establish standards, and empower cross-functional teams to leverage data for confident decision-making.
  • Become a subject matter expert on our product and its instrumentation including best practices to capture user behavior data that lead to product insights.
  • Partner with our PMs and product analysts to design and develop event instrumentation standards and requirements across ClickUp's product.
  • Partner with cross functional engineering teams who create and maintain data collection events across the company to ensure cleanliness of instrumentation
  • Ensure our collected events are useful, user-friendly, and high quality including leading data QA and leading enablement to help product, system, and engineering teams get insights from our events.
  • Leverage our events to uncover insights, build and monitor alerts so we can quickly address issues in our user experience, partner with PMs to track and build their KPIs in dashboards and enable them to self-serve.
  • Provide guidance and support to other team members on analytics implementation best practices.
  • Establish scalable methodologies and best practices to enable all these functions.
  • Keep up with new tech trends and privacy laws to ensure that the company's data collection methods are up-to-date and compliant
 
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience building requirements for events and working with 1 or more event tracking platforms like Segment, Snowplow, or Rudderstack.
  • Comfortable building dashboards leveraging advanced segmentation capabilities in web analytics tools such as Amplitude or Adobe Analytics.
  • A strong understanding of software business principles and metrics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation issues using browser’s console, browser plug-ins, and other tools.
  • Comfortable with basic SQL transformations and relational databases.
  • A strong self-starter, operationally-focused; a problem-solver.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
 
Desirable:
  • Extensive knowledge of Segment and Amplitude.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS products and metrics.
