The Role:

As the Lead Product Manager of the Activation Squad, you will have a pivotal role in optimising the user journey from the initial app installation to bank connection, and further enhancing the conversion to premium subscriptions. Your efforts will directly influence early user engagement and retention, particularly focusing on activities within the first month (M0) that lead to sustained use in the following month (M1).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance User Onboarding: Streamline the process from app download to bank connection, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience that encourages continued engagement.
  • Boost Premium Conversions: Develop strategies to convert users to premium accounts post-bank connection by highlighting the value and benefits of upgraded features.
  • Retention Strategies: Implement and refine actions in the initial month of app usage that are critical for retaining users into the second month and beyond.
  • Lead the Activation Squad: Direct a cross-functional team including analysts, designers, and engineers to innovate and execute strategies that enhance user activation and retention.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize analytics to understand user behavior and refine approaches based on empirical data to maximize product effectiveness.

Outcome 1: Optimize the flow from app installation to bank connection to maximize user engagement and data capture. 

Outcome 2: Increase premium conversion rates through targeted strategies and clear value proposition communication. 

Outcome 3: Establish and iterate on key metrics and activities that enhance user retention from the first to the second month of usage and beyond.

How long will the process take?

We aim to move as fast as possible. Usually 2-3 weeks is enough time for us all to get to know each other.

  • Step 1: Quick phone/video call with a member of our Talent Team to find out more about your experience and why you want to work at Cleo
  • Step 2: 60 minutes with the Hiring Manager - Chris Hamblin, VP Growth
  • Step 3: 60 mins Live product sense interview, to be presented to a Product Lead and another squad member, normally a Growth Lead
  • Step 4: 45 minutes each with two cross-functional peers from Analytics, Marketin , Commercial or Growth
