Software Development Engineer – Client Experience/Risk Analytics
The Analytics team owns and operates Clearwater’s risk analytics product, including both internal and 3rd party security modeling. Our backend systems are the largest individual components on Clearwater’s system. We model financial securities to provide our clients with accurate analysis of their forward-looking risk.
Ideal candidates will be genuinely interested in the mathematics behind financial security modeling, backend programming with performance requirements, and managing projects with large codebases.
About the role
We have been scaling our financial security modeling to cover more and more of the global market. In this role, you will:
Work on, and learn about, financial security modeling for trillions of dollars in assets.
Communicate daily with product managers and subject matter experts to understand precise mathematical requirements.
Enhance the stability of existing code and infrastructure.
Work with developers with diverse experience and origins.
Proactively drive improvements to the projects and team processes.
2+ years of experience in software development.
Experience in Java or similar object-oriented language.
About the technology
Our application stack utilizes primarily Java and SQL Server.
Our code is managed through git repositories housed in BitBucket.
Application logging and monitoring is provided via Kibana, New Relic, and Grafana.
We use Jenkins Cloudbees and DevBuild, Artifactory, Puppet, Docker, Google Cloud Platform, and in-house tooling to facilitate builds, deployment, infrastructure, and configuration.
Automated testing is facilitated by a variety of standard and in-house tools: JUnit, Pact, and WireMock.
We provide quality hardware to support development and communication on Windows or Mac.
