The (Senior) Accounting Manager is responsible for all day-to-day operational accounting activities, planning, managing and executing the monthly close-related activities to provide for timely and accurate reporting under US GAAP, putting in place and following appropriate internal control procedures, maintaining data integrity in financial systems and analyzing financial information. The ideal candidate will be expected to exhibit the highest professional standards, ethical principles, and attention to detail while working on numerous routine and ad hoc accounting support functions.
The (Senior) Accounting Manager will be an integral part of the Finance and Accounting team, thriving in a fast-paced environment, bringing enthusiasm to the office, all while being a hands-on individual with consistent performance and a sense of urgency and commitment.
Manage the monthly close process, including maintenance of close calendars and checklists, reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations
Manage, coach and mentor a team that is responsible for cash, AP, AR, prepaids, fixed assets, accruals and expense classification
Own the monthly consolidation, intercompany reconciliations and maintain a relationship with contacts in international locations
Perform accounting research and provide technical guidance, as needed
Own compliance matters surrounding account operations (i.e. 1099 filings, etc.)
Facilitate the accounting team’s commitment to timely and accurately processing accounting information under US GAAP
Liaise with FP&A in determining monthly accruals and support them in budget and forecasting activities
Assist with tax-related and compliance matters
Perform other ad hoc projects as directed by management
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance, with CPA preferred
6+ years (8-9 for Senior) of accounting experience with supervisory/managerial experience and three years at a Big 4 public accounting firm or in a public company environment
In-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of US GAAP
Experience with Netsuite is preferred
Ability to independently resolve complex problems where analysis requires in-depth evaluation of several factors
Proven work history with progressive responsibilities and scope
