About Clear Street:
Clear Street is modernizing the brokerage ecosystem. Founded in 2018, Clear Street is a diversified financial services firm replacing the legacy infrastructure used across capital markets.
We started from scratch by building a completely cloud-native clearing and custody system designed for today’s complex, global market. Our platform is fully integrated with central clearing houses and exchanges to support billions in trading volume per day. We’ve agonized about our data model abstractions, created horizontal scalability, and crafted thoughtful APIs. All so we can provide a best-in-class experience for our clients.
By combining highly-skilled product and engineering talent with seasoned finance professionals, we’re building the essentials to compete in today’s fast-paced markets.
The Team:
Clear Street's Infrastructure Engineering team builds the foundational stack for our services. It spans multiple disciplines including Core Platforms, Developer Experience, Security, and Data. The team is highly visible and operates horizontally across the entire Engineering organization.
The Role:
We are seeking a seasoned Technical Lead Software Engineer to join our dynamic Infrastructure Engineering team, focusing on enhancing security infrastructure and optimizing developer experience.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of talented engineers, driving the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust security solutions while also ensuring a seamless developer experience across our software development lifecycle. You'll lead efforts to fortify our software supply chain against vulnerabilities and threats, ensuring the integrity and trustworthiness of our software products. You will also be responsible for designing and implementing solutions for fortifying our runtime environment in AWS and Kubernetes, including automation for AMI hardening and orchestration of OS patches.
You’ll work horizontally across the Infrastructure and Security teams, closely collaborating with Engineering leadership and the company’s CISO to design the Security Infrastructure team’s roadmap. You’ll also draw up technical project designs and execution plans and be involved hands-on in the implementation of these projects. You’ll also advocate for developer-friendly security solutions, providing tools and resources to empower Clear Street’s engineers to make informed security decisions. In doing so, you will champion a culture of security awareness and best practices among developers, promoting a proactive approach to addressing security concerns.

- Experience with Git principles and command line
- Proven leadership skills, with experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
