 Job Summary                                                                                                                                     

 

Clear Path for Veterans, Inc. (CPV or Clear Path) is a community-based organization delivering world-class, holistic programs and services to veterans and their families without condition. The Program Specialist for the VA SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program plays a pivotal role in the implementation and management of grant-funded initiatives aimed at reducing suicide rates among veterans, particularly focusing on the SSG Fox demographic. This position involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the grant program, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring the effective delivery of suicide prevention services to veterans. The Program Specialist reports to the Chief Program Officer at Clear Path for Veterans, Inc. and works closely with VA officials, community partners, and mental health professionals.

 Primary Functions                                                                                                                              

 

Management of SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program

 

  1. Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of suicide prevention programs and activities funded by the SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program.
  2. Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets in accordance with grant requirements and organizational goals.
  3. Monitor grant expenditures, track progress against objectives, and prepare regular reports for submission to the VA and other stakeholders.
  4. Work closely with subject matter experts to design and implement evidence-based suicide prevention interventions tailored to the unique needs of SSG Fox veterans.
  5. Coordinate the delivery of mental health services, peer support programs, crisis intervention, and other supportive services to veterans at risk of suicide.
  6. Ensure that program activities align with the objectives of the VA SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program and adhere to relevant regulations and guidelines.

Stakeholder Engagement and Relationships

  1. Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with VA officials, veteran service organizations, mental health providers, and community agencies involved in suicide prevention efforts.
  2. Serve as the primary point of contact for grant-related inquiries, communications, and coordination with external partners.
  3. Facilitate meetings, workshops, and trainings to promote information sharing, collaboration, and best practices in suicide prevention.

 

  1. Raise awareness about suicide prevention resources and services available to SSG Fox veterans and their families through outreach activities, public awareness campaigns, and media engagements.
  2. Advocate for policies and funding initiatives that support suicide prevention efforts and address the unique needs of SSG Fox veterans within the VA system and beyond.
  3. Represent Develop a Clear Path for Veterans, at community events, conferences, and meetings to promote collaboration and partnership opportunities.

Administrative and Miscellaneous

 

  1. Work with the Director of Veteran Support Services and leadership team to develop and manage the coordination of programs and services related to the SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program.
  2. Submit monthly regional reports to the Chief Program
  3. Establish data collection procedures to monitor program outcomes, including changes in suicide rates, utilization of services, and participant feedback.
  4. Maintain accurate records of program activities, expenditures, and outcomes, and ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements.
  5. Analyze program data to identify trends, successes, and areas for improvement, and use findings to inform programmatic decisions and strategies.
  6. Maintain an inventory for all program needs
  7. Maintain accurate data on all client leads, existing accounts, and other client-related activities using the CRM platform (Salesforce) and related processes.
  8. Administer program surveys as required to measure outcomes and
  9. Develop and pursue short and long-term regional goals that align with the Clear Path mission; create viable strategies to achieve regional strategic goals
  10. Collect data and information regarding program outputs to include, but not limited to, the number of veterans and family members served, demographic data, and other metrics as requested by the leadership team in report form utilized applicable customer relationship management (CRM) platform,
  11. Complete other duties or tasks assigned or needed to complete job responsibilities and support Clear

Path’s mission.

 

 Education and Experience Requirements                                                                                            

 

  1. Master’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, or a related
  2. Previous experience in program coordination, project management, or grant administration, preferably in the field of veteran services or mental health.
  3. Knowledge of suicide prevention principles, interventions, and best practices, with a focus on serving SSG Fox veterans and their families.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including veterans, VA officials, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies.
  5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Sensitivity to the unique experiences and needs of SSG Fox veterans, with a commitment to providing culturally competent and inclusive services.

 

  1. Familiarity with data collection and analysis techniques, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management software.
  2. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of veterans and their communities.
