ClearMotion is launching a groundbreaking new technology for the automotive industry – a high bandwidth active suspension system

We are looking for a talented Principal Software Build and Release Engineer to work on our breakthrough active suspension system for cars. You will be part of the software engineering group, reporting to the Director of Software Engineering.

As a  member of the Software Engineering Group you will be managing a small team, helping us to build a repeatable, scalable and industrialized build and release function to contribute to the company growth. The successful candidate will be a passionate, confident, organized and driven team player.


  • Responsible for all build and release activities
  • Lead a small team of build and release engineers
  • Plan and lead process improvements in build, release and report automation
  • Create and maintain a continuous integration/deployment environment
  • Coordinate with SW test and systems engineering on software configuration tracking and documentation
  • Ensure software releases are built, tracked, tested, documented and follow a replicable process
  • Work closely with the Software Project Manager to ensure alignment of software deliverables to customer/business timeline
  • Engage with project/technical managers on an ongoing basis and ensure risks and issues are assessed and managed
  • Constantly look to automate manual and repetitive tasks while reducing or optimizing build/release times
  • Mentor and help develop junior engineers

Qualifications and Experience 

  • BS or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering
  • Minimum of 10 year’s experience in a software configuration management/release management role
  • Experience with build infrastructure, e.g. QuickBuild, Jenkins
  • Excellent Window/Linux command line and shell scripting skills
  • Good knowledge of Git, SVN and Artifactory

Preferable experience & qualifications 

  • Master’s Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering
  • Experience with JIRA, JAMA and Confluence
  • Working in a formal software development environment(i.e. ISO26262, DO178c)
  • Experience working in Agile teams
  • Python development experience
  • Experience with Vector’s toolchain CANape, CANalyzer, CANoe
  • Knowledge of C/C++
  • Automotive experience
  • Worked within a software engineering QMS (e.g. CMMI, A-SPICE)
