Who We're Looking For - Senior Corporate Counsel

Clearlink is looking for a Senior Corporate Counsel to join the Legal team, reporting directly to the General Counsel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data privacy and consumer protection laws and regulations (including the CCPA and TCPA).

You will be part of a growing Legal team and will be integral in building and supporting the next growth phase of the company. You will support every department of the company, negotiate a wide range of technology agreements, and solve difficult problems. To be successful in the role, you must be serious about attention to detail and want to be involved in all facets of the business.

This position will be hybrid at Clearlink’s new Global Headquarters in Draper, UT; 4 days in office and 1 day remote. This position is only open to all current Utah residents who are willing to work in our world-class Headquarters in Draper, UT.

The Impact You Will Make

  • Draft, analyze, and negotiate a wide range of technology and media agreements, including master subscription/service agreements (MSAs), SaaS agreements, service level agreements (SLAs), statements of work (SOWs), data privacy/protection agreements (DPAs), and related agreements.
  • Data Privacy responsibilities include:
  • Develop and maintain data privacy policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.
  • Create and maintain a company-wide data intake and usage map.
  • Draft data privacy agreements and addendums.
  • Provide guidance and training on data protection practices.
  • Perform regular privacy audits and compliance reviews to assess adherence to data privacy policies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage privacy incidents and data breaches.
  • Monitor compliance with data protection laws, regulations, and industry standards, and recommend changes to policies and procedures as needed to maintain compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant consumer protection laws, including the TCPA.
  • Coordinate and collaborate daily with all Clearlink departments, including providing prompt, practical, business-oriented legal and commercial advice directly to internal business clients.
  • Be a problem solver and resource for the sales and marketing departments, explaining issues and risks, identifying and advising on alternatives, finding solutions, and leading negotiations.
  • Assist with maintaining policies and compliance programs.
  • Assist as needed on other legal matters dictated by business needs.

What You Bring

  • Five or more years of relevant legal experience, preferably at a major law firm or sophisticated in-house legal department.
  • Data privacy experience is required.
  • Law degree from a top law school.
  • Team player who appreciates business objectives. 
  • Good communication skills and an ability to interact effectively with broader team.
  • Creative problem solver who helps find solutions.
  • Ability to clearly translate into lay terms and effectively communicate the legal conditions which affect business opportunities and problems.
