The Role

Reporting to a technical lead, we are looking for a Software Engineer to help us build our early stage product. In this role, you will learn and familiarize yourself with a wide spectrum of financial and legal services: asset & liability distribution, real estate, taxes, cryptocurrency, document processing and recognition, banking services, e-signing and much more. 

As a critical member of our team, you will create new full-stack features from user interfaces to database schemas. Our architecture is built using domain driven design and runs on modern technologies such as the latest Laravel, Vuejs, TypeScript and Cypress. You work with well-designed specs and high fidelity prototypes, on a rigorously well tested code base.

 

What You’ll Do

  • You'll brainstorm with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers on your team to conceptualize and build new features for our growing customer base;
  • You’ll produce high-quality results by contributing heavily to team projects that have a significant impact on the business;
  • You’ll actively own team features or systems and define their long-term health, while also improving the health of surrounding systems;
  • You'll assist our skilled support team and operations team in triaging and resolving production issues;
  • You'll mentor other engineers and deeply review code;
  • You’ll improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes;

 

What We Value

  • You have 5+ years experience working with PHP + bonus points for Laravel;
  • You have 5+ years experience with Javascript + bonus points for VueJS and/or TypeScript;
  • You can contribute to technical architecture discussions and help drive technical decisions within your team;
  • Experience writing functional and unit tests;
  • You are passionate about user experience;
  • You are a strong communicator. Explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other engineers is no problem for you;
  • You possess strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval;
  • You have completed a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience;
