We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President & Product Counsel to provide the legal foundation and solutions for CLEAR’s innovative products. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of technology and consumer products, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex legal and business issues across various product lines.


What you'll do:

  • Drive Product Legal Strategy: Craft and implement robust legal solutions  to support CLEAR's product and feature development, consistent with business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Advise Engineering and Product Teams: Partner closely with product and engineering teams throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept development to go-to-market strategy
  • Consider our Customers First by Building Innovative and Compliant Products: Develop and implement strategies to address and mitigate legal and compliance risks in our products
  • Monitor Regulatory and Privacy Changes: Stay ahead of evolving laws and regulations, adapting legal strategies to keep CLEAR's products compliant and competitive in a dynamic market
  • Work Cross-Functionally: Partner with teams across the company to share information about the regulatory environment and customer expectations, to facilitate efficient and transparent legal support across the business

How you'll measure success:

  • On-time and compliant product launches keeping pace with business goals
  • Successful integration with Product and Engineering teams to provide advice in real time
  • Proven ability to prioritize and balance competing goals and communicate legal requirements throughout the SDLC

What you're great at:

  • Extensive experience in technology and product development law
  • Proven track record of managing complex legal issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and mentorship
  • Expertise in data privacy, cybersecurity regulations, and intellectual property
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
  • Proven track record of working cross-functionally with technical and business teams
  • Juris Doctor required

The base salary range for this role is $265,000 - $300,000, depending on levels of skills and experience.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of CLEAR’s salary range for this position. Salaries will vary depending on various factors which include, but are not limited to location, education, skills, experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of CLEAR’s total compensation package for employees and other rewards may include annual bonuses, commission, Restricted Stock Units
