About the role:

Classy is seeking a creative wordsmith to join our marketing team as a content marketing writer and strategist. This person will be responsible for developing unique content to be used across marketing channels. Through weekly blog posts, data reports, web copy, and digital assets, the content strategist will ideate and write content that delivers on Classy’s business goals and objectives, while elevating the company’s positioning and products to help to empower nonprofits. 

What you’ll accomplish:

  • Ideate, research, and write multiple blog posts a month
  • Improve Classy’s organic traffic by having a keen eye on SEO, contributing to SEO research and strategies, and ensuring consistent progress in page rankings and traffic to Classy web properties
  • Work cross-functionally with product marketing and product owners to bring products to market through content marketing channels
  • Develop a deep understanding of Classy’s product suite, its value propositions, and market positioning
  • Develop quarterly long-form content that drives demand and nurtures audiences
  • Develop data reports through both third-party survey companies and internal data working closely with Classy’s data science team
  • Lead content strategy for integrated marketing campaigns from ideation to content creation
  • Develop a weekly blog newsletter using email best practices to drive traffic to the Classy blog
  • Help maintain Classy’s voice, tone, and key messaging company-wide by serving as an editor for various marketing assets
  • Help run Classy’s freelance writing program, including pitching freelance writing opportunities, making assignments, liaising with these writers, and editing their work
  • Design and execute experiments to improve the quality and efficiency of the overall Classy content strategy, inclusive of A/B testing, competitive research, and audience research
  • Build relationships with customers and our customer marketing function to become a storyteller of their experiences and bolster content with strong proof points

What you bring (Required):

  • 4+ years experience in content marketing
  • Strong writing skills and knowledge of AP style
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, marketing, or related field
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and exceptional editing skills
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the expertise to speak with nonprofit leaders regularly
  • Enthusiastic team player who is adaptable in the face of shifting priorities
  • Basic understanding of WordPress
  • Experience writing about SaaS products, including familiarity with product positioning and understanding of how to connect products to customers

  • SEO knowledge
  • B2B/ SaaS experience
  • Knowledge of project management software such as Asana
  • Knowledge of content marketing tools such as Google Analytics and Salesforce
  • Nonprofit knowledge or experience
