What we do

At Civis Analytics, we bring objective, data-driven truth to organizational decision-making—from the boardroom to the world’s largest progressive social causes.

This mission isn’t an aspiration: it’s something we see realized every day, and it brings purpose to everything we’re working on.

We combine a sophisticated SaaS product with our specialized data science consultancy to empower tens of thousands of active users to make millions of data-driven decisions every month. From joining disparate data sources and automating reporting, to building more elaborate models of targeted audiences and optimizing messages for them, organizations like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the City of Boston, and iHeart Radio trust Civis’s technology to make their most critical decisions.

Core to our product and consulting offerings is Civis Platform, which makes it easy to import, manage, transform, analyze, and report on data. Our customers love Civis Platform because it empowers them to focus on finding data-driven answers to their most critical questions—in other words, we empower them to run their business, rather than running a tech stack.

Although it’s likely our offices will reopen, positions hired outside of Civis office locations will be remote roles.

What we are looking for

You’ll work collaboratively alongside engineers, data scientists, and product managers in a highly custom category of software. You’ll be welcomed by coworkers who default to a focus on function over form and who value your ability to increase the impact of our product on customers’ needs through great design. You’ll join a supportive and fun design team but will ultimately be responsible for shaping, leading, and executing the design process within your area of responsibility.

You will build incredible user experiences and a best-in-class user interface for a mature, complex, and growing software product.

Here, you will use empathy artifacts, research and testing techniques, user flows, lo-fi wireframes, hi-fi design specs, and other tools in your design toolkit. You’ll join the design team’s work in evolving and implementing a design system, and will be charged with making the world of big data easily comprehensible to the non-expert. You'll be working on a variety of design challenges, often with custom and creative design solutions required, and will be involved in every phase of feature development including research, ideation, implementation, and iteration. At Civis, you will get to help shape the future of big data and work with wicked smart and passionate people.

Join us & help build the first great data science software platform!

Your answer will be maintained confidentially and not be seen by selecting officials or anyone else involved in making personnel decisions.
