Two Customer Service Representative l positions are available with the City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department at the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge. The Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge is a 3,621-acre City of Fort Worth park which is preserved and protected by dedicated City of Fort Worth employees through education and sound natural resource management. Staff assist with an array of natural resource management and research activities and/or provide natural science and conservation-oriented recreational and eduational activities to the public.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED and no previous experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Bilingual skills English/Spanish, preferred
- Have at least two years of responsible customer service experience and cash handling within the area of assignment as well as excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of North Central Texas native flora and fauna.
- Possession of or the ability to obtain certifications in Adult and Child CPR/AED and First Aid.
The Customer Service Representative l job responsibilities include:
- Interact with customers at the entry gate and the Hardwicke Interpretive Center, the main visitor center
- Accept payment for park admission and program activities, provides information about park amenities and answers general questions
- Provide a wide variety of general customer service support while performing general clerical tasks, i.e. responding to customer complaints and inquiries in a timely and efficient manner
- Fulfill custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, taking out the trash, etc.
- Perform facility opening and closing duties; patrols area to ensure safety procedures are followed
- Multi-task in a heavy customer contact environment
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Enthusiastic, self-starter, highly self-motivated, and takes initiative.
Working Conditions:
Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting.
Physical Demand
Medium work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
