Pay Range: $89,164 - $115,914 annual compensation

A Sr. Data Science Analyst job is available with the City of Fort Worth FWLab. The Data Analytics division of FWLab delves into large sets of data to extract meaningful insights and identify trends. Utilizing advanced statistical, computational, and visualization tools, they assist in decision-making and enhance operational efficiency. Their findings often drive business strategies, optimize processes, and pinpoint areas of improvement or opportunity.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, Computer Science, Information Management, Physics or Statistics, or a related field
- Four (4) years of performing financial or data analysis experience working with data visualization and business intelligence tools. Including working with big data technologies (distributed streaming/processing to leverage large, rich, multimodal datasets to solve business problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work with programming tools (e.g., Python, R), and query language (e.g., SQL).
- Experience in Machine Learning and Data Science techniques (e.g., Linear Regression, Bayesian Statistics, Causal Inference).
- Experience with modern data stack (e.g., Apache Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, Azure Data Lake).
- Knowledge of software development practices (e.g., Git), unit testing, and integration testing.
The Sr. Data Science Analyst job responsibilities include:
- Develops and implements data analysis strategies to solve complex business problems, leveraging advanced statistical, machine learning, and predictive modeling techniques.
- Creates and communicates insightful data visualizations to stakeholders, ensuring complex data is presented clearly and effectively.
- Coordinates and analyzes data from multiple departments to identify opportunities for enhancing departmental operations and performance through data-driven decision-making and process improvements.
- Designs, produces, and automates both standard and customized reports for statistical analysis, operational planning, and strategic decision-making, using modern data visualization tools and programming languages.
- Collaborates with end-users to gather and refine requirements for data projects, creating detailed business requirement documents, and conducting follow-up meetings to ensure alignment with business goals and data availability.
- Performs exploratory data analysis, hypothesis testing, and advanced data mining techniques to uncover trends and patterns in historical data, providing actionable recommendations to improve departmental performance.
