The Code Compliance Department is seeking a Social Media Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for creating, managing, and executing social media content to promote the department's programs, services, and initiatives.
This role involves close collaboration with the Animal Care and Control division, external animal welfare organizations, and community partners to enhance outreach efforts and build a supportive network. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to develop engaging content that reflects and upholds the City of Fort Worth’s Mission and Vision across various social media platforms.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree, with emphasis in photography or related fields
- Two (2) years of experience increasingly responsible technical audio/visual experience with significant public contact.
- One (1) year of video editing experience
- Valid Texas Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro), and video editing tools for creating graphics and multimedia content.
- Experience using social media analytics tools (Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics) to track campaign performance and generate metrics reports.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
The (Media Specialist) job responsibilities include:
- Develop, create, and manage social media content to promote code compliance initiatives and programs.
- Planning, writing, and executing social media campaigns that raise awareness about code compliance topics, including property maintenance, zoning, and safety codes.
- Designing and posting visuals, videos, and infographics to communicate key messages and enhance public understanding.
- Assist in crisis communication by addressing negative feedback and providing accurate information during code-related emergencies or incidents.
- Track and analyze social media metrics to measure engagement, reach, and campaigns effectiveness.
- Ensure all social media communications align with the City of Fort Worth’s branding and communication standards.
- Collaboration effectively with other departments, city employees and stakeholders to achieve communication goals.
- Providing creative problem-solving ideas to overcome content challenges or audience engagement issues.
