Pay Range: $54,879 - $71,343 annual compensation

A Management Analyst I is available with the City of Fort Worth Police Department’s Fiscal Command. This position will contribute to the City's strategic goals, mission and vision by performing a wide variety of analytical support duties related to organizational analysis, budget preparation and monitoring. This position is responsible for assisting in the development and management of the General Fund and CCPD budgets in the Police Department. Additionally, the position will help oversee the development and management of the Police Department's capital projects. Other responsibilities include performing technical and complex analytical financial management work with an emphasis on budgeting and financial compliance for the Police Department; providing budget-related administrative support and training to Bureau leadership and personnel; analyzing systems, procedures and operations; designing and implementing improved systems, procedures and methods; and performing a variety of analytical and administrative tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or related
- Proficiency in excel skills required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Principles of budget preparation, analysis and forecasting of operating budgets
- Financial monitoring, reconciling, capitalization
The Management Analyst I job responsibilities include:
- Prepare and assist with the development of division’s budget as it pertains to salaries, staffing, and equipment; assist with revenue analysis
- Assist with the development, management and forecasting of the department’s budget
- Review and prepare financial forecasts (for revenue and expenditure accounts)
- Provide a variety of analytical and research support on various projects
- Create revenue and expenditure analysis for the preparation of budgets, forecasts and for reporting purposes
- Train personnel on budget processes, financial systems of record, and customer service
- Create and monitor capital projects in accordance with approved capital appropriations
- Prepare journal entries and budget transfers as needed to correct transactions or to adjust budget as requested and approved
- Perform budget check, approval/denial and research for Purchase Authorization Forms, as well as Travel Requests and budget information for contracts
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures to document processes

Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Background Check
Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
Physical Demands
Light Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects.
