Pay Range: $24.67/hr. - $30.83/hr.

A Purchasing Assistant position is available with the City of Fort Worth Water Department, Plant operations Division.
This position will be located at the Village Creek Plant. Plant Operations is responsible for 5 Water treatment plants, one wastewater treatment plant, and multiple lift stations, tanks, pump stations, and large meters for the City of Fort Worth as well as customer cities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree with major coursework in Business or public Administration or related field.
- Three (3) years of clerical or administrative experience
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in purchasing large quantities of items
- Previous experience developing and monitoring a budget
- Previous experience in accounting or finance
The Purchasing Assistant job responsibilities include:
- Tracks and monitors renewal letters for bids, cooperative agreements, pricing and price change requests.
- Process and review division purchase orders.
- Performs research, advisory and technical support services for division.
- Manages divisional purchasing database, compiles information and generates reports.
- Perform requests for adding line items and increasing purchase orders
- Serve as backup for the Accounts Payable support
