A Maintenance Worker position is available with the City of Fort Worth Water Department, Plant Operations Division.
This position will be located at Village Creek but this individual would travel to other plants on a daily basis. Plant Operations is responsible for 5 Water treatment plants, one wastewater treatment plant, and multiple lift stations, tanks, pump stations, and large meters for the City of Fort Worth as well as customer cities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Must pass Physical and Drug Screen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in delivery of parts and equipment
- Previous experience in construction, maintenance and repair
- Previous experience with hand tools
- Experience with facilities maintenance
The Maintenance Worker job responsibilities include:
- Performs a variety of maintenance activities in the completion of assigned divisional operations.
- Operates a variety of hand and small power tools and equipment.
- Performs ground maintenance activities as assigned.
- Delivers parts and materials to various work locations
- Assists with cleaning, collecting and hauling trash and debris as assigned.
WORK CONDITIONS

repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on
assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, and workspace restrictions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Heavy Work – depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
