A Civil Engineer job is available with the City of Fort Worth Water Department in our Capital Delivery Section. You will be responsible for design and project management of various city engineering projects.
The Civil Engineer job responsibilities include:
Direct and coordinate city engineering projects.
Perform professional civil engineering work, which includes design, inspection and contract administration of water and sanitary sewer projects.
Prepare, review, and evaluate construction bids, cost estimates, and change orders.
Work under the direction of a Senior Professional Engineer.
Address a high volume of phone, email, public and internal inquires.
Applying the Fort Worth Water Department engineering design criteria.
Perform research and solve engineering problems.
Participates in variety of professional meetings and conferences.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
Two (2) years of professional civil engineering experience as a registered Professional Engineer within Water/Wastewater pipeline design, management and construction.
Possession of registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. If licensed in another state, continued employment will be contingent upon obtaining registration as a Professional Engineer within the state of Texas within six months of employment.
Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualification:
Proficient skills using Microsoft Word and Excel.
