A Sr. Professional Engineer job is available with The Water Department, Capital Delivery Section. The selected candidate will have design and project management experience to work on water/wastewater plant projects and water/sanitary sewer rehabilitation projects.
Sr. Professional Engineer job responsibilities include:
Directing and coordinating various City Engineering projects and programs.
Participates in the planning and development of capital projects.
Perform professional civil engineering work including design and contract administration of water and sanitary sewer projects.
Prepare / review and evaluate contractor pay estimates and change orders.
Preparing for and conduction public meetings.
Inspection of facility and water/sanitary sewer projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or related field, PLUS three (3) years of professional civil engineering experience as a registered professional engineer of which two year must be within related to the area of assigned responsibility.
Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. If licensed in another state, continued employment will be contingent upon obtaining registration as a Professional Engineer within the State of Texas within six months of employment.
Candidates must possess a valid Texas Class “C” driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Conditions of Employment
Candidates who do not meet the Education requirement, may be considered if they have more relevant work experience than the position requires. Those selected for employment will be required to pass Pre-Employment checks depending on the position requirements.
