Video Campaigner and Graphic Designer

CitizenGO staffs a creative team of designers, video producers, editors, and digital experts supporting our campaigns by developing and producing innovative, creative content, including producing TV and digital video projects, crafting cut-through design products, and sharing stories that rally our pro-life and pro-family base. Through eye-catching and engaging content, the creative team gives people important outlets to get the word out and make a difference in our campaigns.

Our video and graphic design team will work along with the campaigners to make our online campaigns and offline actions go viral on social media, via email, and other media. This person will report to the Media Campaigns Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor life, family, and political news stories and pitch videos supporting the CitizenGO campaigns and petitions.

  • Create 7–10 short videos each month, often under tight deadlines.

  • Produce video from start to finish: draft video scripts; gather and edit assets such as news footage, archival/stock footage, photos, headlines, graphics, music, and voiceover; create original motion graphic sequences for videos; shoot quick interviews or direct videographers conducting interviews where needed; and export and upload a video to platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.

  • Innovate, experiment, and learn—work with our analytics team to design and run tests that help identify what makes videos more shareable and impactful.

  • Producing and supporting creative design needs such as print products including; flyers, reports, banners, posters and billboards, news ads, stationary, and other brand collateral.

  • Monitor the rapidly changing online video environment—watch and identify best practices that others in the space are using.

  • Generally available late morning to later in the evening for rapid-response communication (email, Slack, Meet, and phone).

  • Employ effective time management to ensure a healthy work-life balance

Requirements

  • Video editor with knowledge of software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.

  • Technical knowledge of filmmaking and photography.
  • Graphics and motion graphics designer with knowledge of motion graphics software such as Canva.com, After Effects/Motion, and Adobe Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop

  • Ability to incorporate feedback as part of our collaborative production process.

  • Knowledge of codecs, resolutions, and file formats—can pull a video from multiple sources and convert it to usable formats

  • Ability to deliver accurate and artistic video under tight deadlines.

  • Storytelling expertise— ability to use video to grab viewers’ attention and craft emotionally resonant narratives.

  • Understands political messaging, strategy, and campaigns within the pro-life and pro-family movement.

  • Understands current trends in online video and social media

  • Can deliver a brief to tight deadlines working with a variety of staff and stakeholders.

  • Experience with print design: ability to lead the graphic design of print materials such as an annual report, campaign materials, and merchandise.

  • It would be ideal to have previous experience working in small production companies, local or regional television
  • Passion and commitment to human dignity, life, family, liberty, citizen empowerment, and social change.

  • High professionalism, self-motivation, efficiency, and results-oriented delivery on short timelines.

  • Strong teamwork skills, comfortable in a highly collaborative team culture and a hierarchical team structure.

  • Strong project and staff management skills.

  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing conditions and requirements.

  • Willing to work autonomously on a variety of tasks and projects, prioritizing them efficiently.

  • Aiming at proactivity, taking the initiative to get the job done, and enriching with valuable projects and proposals to the entire organization.

  • Fluency in English and Spanish is a requirement. Any other additional languages are an asset.
