Campaigners are at the core of CitizenGO’s advocacy work, running global and national online campaigns, and preparing or translating from English campaign communications read by millions of people each week, creating compelling and powerful opportunities to take action across the world.

This is an exciting position at the heart of one of the most innovative and promising advocacy and mobilization organisations in the world today. It offers a unique platform from which to help develop and pursue large scale social change efforts.

Duties include A/B testing, monitoring emails’ performance, and data analysis to help understand results and set the best strategies for our email program. The Campaigner, Marketing Specialist will report to one of the Directors of Campaigns or one of the Managers, Campaigns.

Campaigner Marketing Specialist Responsibilities

  • Developing, implementing, and tracking marketing programs such as email, social media, or digital campaigns and events.
  • Collaborating to develop and monitor strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Analyzing and reporting on the campaigns’ performance.
  • Developing and creating marketing strategies like online adverts, database marketing, promotional letters, outdoor advertising, phone text messaging, magazine adverts, coupons, etc.
  • Executing email campaigns, monitoring and assessing performance, identifying opportunities, creating and optimizing segmentation, and executing A/B tests.
  • Producing and analyzing marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic, etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies for campaigns.
  • Writing, proofreading, and editing creative and technical content across different mediums.
  • Monitoring world and local events and identifying opportunities for strong campaigns.
  • Consulting with experts and supporting the development of a strong strategy, policy, and message.
  • Drafting campaign emails and other communications.
  • Looking for sources for campaigns -- finding relevant, issue-specific, supporting materials from the press, NGOs, etc.
  • Coordinating materials in the specific language, such as briefings to the Campaigns team, press releases, and conducting research.
  • Publishing and editing online content.
  • Taking English CitizenGO’s campaigns and turning them into sharp and compelling specific language campaigns -- translating/editing all relevant materials, and working on the CitizenGO backend interface to create web pages and emails within the particular language.
  • Helping to shape the organization’s overall strategic direction, and at times supporting other organization tasks, including recruitment, team building and management, and special projects.
  • Help, assist and advise Media Campaigners in the offline events and performance related to the campaigner’s campaign.
  • Reviewing, managing and supporting the petitions published by members on the CitizenGO Petitions website.

Campaigner Marketing Specialist Requirements

  • Strong user-level computer skills and knowledge of email marketing, marketing automation and analytics tools. Google Workspace and Asana experience preferred. Proficiency in Marketo or any other marketing automation platform is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical skills and skills in data analysis.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Needs to be able to write concisely and informally in an emotional and active voice.
  • Passion and commitment to human dignity, life, family, liberty, citizen empowerment, and social change.
  • High professionalism, self-motivation, efficiency, and results-oriented delivery on short timelines.
  • Strong teamwork skills, comfortable in a highly collaborative team culture and a hierarchical team structure.

  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing conditions and requirements.
  • Willing to work autonomously on a variety of tasks and projects, prioritizing them efficiently.
  • Aiming at proactivity, taking the initiative to get the job done, and enriching with valuable projects and proposals to the entire organization.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is a requirement. Other additional languages are an asset.
  • This job will suit someone with a flexible schedule who is able to work on tight deadlines. Being available for evening and weekend work and occasional travel as the need arises.
