Circ is seeking an experienced Director of Analytical Services and Product Quality to oversee our product quality assurance processes, ensuring the highest standards across our manufacturing operations. 

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this role involves managing a team of chemists and engineers, leading cross-functional initiatives, and representing the local workforce within the broader organizational leadership. We are looking for a seasoned leader with a strong background in chemistry, working in a high functioning laboratory and team environment, who is comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and thrives on making impactful decisions. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and manage a team of chemists, engineers, and technicians, ensuring the effective operation of analytical instrumentation and chemical analysis processes, with a strong emphasis on manufacturing quality control. 
  • Develop and oversee technical writing efforts, ensuring clear and accurate documentation of chemical analyses and quality assurance procedures. 
  • Bridge communication between various departments, including manufacturing, R&D, and executive leadership. 
  • Communicate with external stakeholders, including investors and board members, providing updates on product quality, and technical developments. 
  • Oversee the implementation and operation of analytical methods and instruments ensuring proper usage and maintenance. 
  • Maintain flexibility and adaptability in a constantly changing environment, supporting the continuous improvement of product quality and manufacturing processes. 
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to integrate quality assurance into production workflows, ensuring products meet or exceed quality standards. 

Qualifications and Role Requirements 

Candidate to work onsite in Danville, VA 5 days per week 

Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. Advanced degree preferred. 
  • 7+ years of management experience, including leading teams in a chemical, analytical, or manufacturing laboratory setting. 
  • Comfortable working onsite 5 days per week in our Danville, VA office.  
  • Proven expertise in analytical chemistry and hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation and manufacturing processes. 
  • Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to document complex processes clearly and accurately. 
  • Experience communicating with external parties, including investors and board members. 
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and navigate complex organizational dynamics. 
  • Familiarity with industry standards and practices.
