POSITION SUMMARY

As Solutions Delivery Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the lifecycle and delivery of our solutions, specifically targeting Rocky Linux and any other line of products that are deemed fit for customer deployment. You will work closely with our engineering and operations teams to deliver CIQ solutions across various cloud and delivery platforms while ensuring high standards of integrity and automation. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless deployment and automation of CIQ solutions, supporting our commitment to delivering reliable and efficient cloud services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Image Building & Maintenance:
    • Design, create, and maintain images (e.g., cloud, virtual machine, and container images) for various providers such as CIQ’s customer delivery service, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
    • Collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements and tailor images accordingly
  2. Image Uploading & Publishing:
    • Upload and manage images on all platforms and marketplaces
    • Ensure proper configuration and deployment of images to all environments
    • Maintain documentation and records of image versions and deployment status
  3. Automation & Integration:
    • Develop and maintain automation scripts and pipelines for delivery, deployment, and management
    • Monitor and troubleshoot automation tasks to ensure they are sourcing, building, and deploying correctly
    • Integrate automation processes with CI/CD pipelines and other operational workflows
    • Ansible, Ansible Tower, Ascender, Chef, Puppet, GitHub Actions experience is a plus 
  4. Quality Assurance & Image Integrity:
    • Conduct regular integrity checks and validations of delivered solutions to ensure consistency and security
    • Implement and manage quality assurance processes and validation
    • Address and resolve issues related to performance, compatibility, and security
  5. Collaboration & Support:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, security, and infrastructure, to align delivery management practices with organizational goals
    • Provide support and troubleshooting assistance for delivery-related issues reported by internal teams or end-users
  6. Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of delivery configurations, build processes, and deployment procedures
    • Generate reports on image usage, performance metrics, and incident resolutions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in cloud image management, Linux operating system engineering, DevOps, or a related field
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
    • Experience with image-building tools and technologies (e.g., Packer, Docker)
    • Strong understanding of automation frameworks and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
    • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
    • Knowledge of security best practices related to cloud images and infrastructure
  • Proven work experience preferred:
    • Certifications related to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Certified DevOps Engineer)
    • Experience with cloud marketplace publishing and management
