JOB SUMMARY: 

The Associate Director of Finance helps guide the annual budgeting process, oversees the general ledger, all general accounting functions, payroll, monthly financial analysis, and provides reports to leadership and ministry/department heads.  The Associate Director of Finance is responsible to help provide overall leadership and direction for the Finance Department under the leadership of the Chief Operating Officer. 

JOB DUTIES: 

  • Help guide the annual budgeting process and monitor changes to budget and multi-year forecasts and cash flow projections throughout the year.
  • Assist in the annual audit process. 
  • Oversee and review all general ledger postings.
  • Supervise the payroll process.
  • Supervise the bank reconciliation process.
  • Assist with preparing monthly financial statements and various detailed analysis. 
  • Develop and maintain financial systems, procedures, and policies to ensure effective stewardship of church resources.   
  • Coordinate with CF’s external auditing firm to ensure proper accounting procedures, internal controls and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Help lead the Finance team in preparation for the annual external audit. 
  • Produce reports for Directors, Pastors, Executives, and Elders as requested. Proactively develop new reports to gain insights into financial performance.
  • Provide a wide variety of guidance and direction to ministries. 
  • Participate in other “life of the church” events, such as Infuse, Christmas, Easter

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required. 
  • Licensed CPA preferred.

RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-7 years prior experience in a related role.
  • Supervisory experience.  
  • Experience in a church or non-profit setting is helpful.  
  • Strong analytical skills to perform financial analysis and discern financial trends. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. 
  • Able to accomplish assigned projects through ministry staff utilizing highly developed communication (written and verbal), project management, time management and collaboration skills.   

JOB SPECS: 

Classification: Full-time, Salary (Exempt) | Be available for occasional after-hours or weekend assignments.
