The Barista role is responsible for assisting operations at our full-service coffee bar. The Barista must have a passion for providing excellent food and beverage products and able to build strong connections within our team and church family. This role must be able to remain flexible and able to fill a variety of tasks. This is an hourly non-exempt position limited to working weekend hours only; both Saturday and Sunday. This role reports directly to the Lead Barista.

We are looking for you to be:

  • Have a strong customer service mindset able to adapt to changes
  • Have working knowledge of a point-of-sale system and basic computer skills
  • Have a current SafeStaff Food Handler Certificate course (or able to be certified within 60-
    days)
  • Able to multi-task and work under pressure in fast-paced environment
  • Able to work extended hours for major events and conferences
  • A minimum of a high school diploma preferred.

You will be looking after:

  • Support the weekend operational components of our full-service coffee bar by brewing coffee for both the coffee bar and events (as needed) and preparing coffee beverages, food items and all other items sold at the coffee bar
  • Maintain cleanliness and positive service behaviors during business hours
  • Replenish the coffee bar with necessary food and paper items as needed
  • Maintain clean display cases and ensure café goods and products are arranged properly
  • Ensure all food and beverage items are presented with a high degree of excellence in both quality and presentation
  • Work with Lead Barista to ensure product are presented correctly and served promptly
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with staff, volunteers and church family
  • Focus on maintaining and building positive customer service behaviors
  • Using the point-of-sale system and enhancing your knowledge of POS with online tutorials
  • Ensuring that all equipment is maintained, clean, and in proficient working condition
  • Implement an established list of standards for performance and service including before, during and after the shift
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
