Software Engineer Intern, DD Setup (Summer 2025)

About the role

Chime is looking for a Backend Engineering Intern to join our DD Setup & Re-engagement team.  The team is responsible for Chime’s most critical metric, which focuses on attracting Direct Depositors to Chime. You will gain valuable professional experience working with cutting edge cloud technology platforms and distributed systems alongside engineers with a wealth of experience to share. This is an exciting opportunity to learn while playing a role in a critical initiative at Chime.

This role is structured as a 3 month engagement. The starting hourly rate offered for this role and target level of experience will begin at $34 and up to $49. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

 

In this role, you can expect to

  • Learn and understand how Chime converts a member into a more valuable direct depositor, which is the most critical part of the Growth org.
  • Learn and execute how Chime’s microservices and cutting-edge infrastructure generally work.
  • Understand how FinTech companies drive growth and revenue through your projects.

To thrive in this role, you  

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Creative thinker and self starter with a passion for consumer FinTech
  • Are flexible and enjoy doing whatever it takes to execute on complex projects
  • Have a low ego and are comfortable working directly well with a wide range of stakeholders
