About this role 

As the Senior Researcher, Brand & Marketing Insights at Chime, you will use your expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methods to work on efforts that range from awareness building all the way to retention strategies. You will oversee mixed-method studies, including but not limited to concept development, positioning, naming, claims testing, brand tracking and ad research. 

This role reports to the Director of Brand & Marketing Insights and will primarily support the Marketing organization including Brand, Product & Lifecycle Marketing and Paid & Organic Growth teams. You will also have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with Product, Corporate Strategy, and User Research to influence strategic decision-making.

  • Be nimble. You will never always have all the data you need in hand or all the time in the world to execute a perfect piece of research. How you handle it matters. 

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $157,590 and up to $218,900. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Design, execute, and interpret complex qualitative and quantitative studies ensuring robust insights that address key business questions.
  • Gain deep understanding of business needs to develop and test hypotheses that drive strategic initiatives, translating data into insights that shape our roadmap.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to integrate insights into key business strategies, from product development to go-to-market (GTM) planning.
  • Lead the execution of brand tracking and measurement studies to provide a clear understanding of market strengths, opportunities, and competitive positioning.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders, telling compelling, actionable stories that influence critical decisions across the organization.
  • Manage external vendors and partners to ensure alignment with project goals, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline research processes, improving efficiency and impact while proactively managing risks to project timelines and budgets.

To thrive in this role, you have

  • Research Experience: Minimum of 7+ years in market research or consumer insights roles, with demonstrated expertise in mixed methods research; Past experience with cultural, lifestyle, CPG and/or fintech consumer brands is strongly preferred
  • Tools: Proficient in Qualtrics, Advanced Excel, Zappi, etc. with experience using qualitative tools like dScout, User Testing etc. Extensive knowledge of advanced analytical methods like MaxDiff, Correspondence Analysis, Conjoint etc. 
  • Storytelling & Communication: Strong communicator who can translate data into a compelling story and influence cross functional teams and senior leaders. Experience with presenting to executives is a strong plus. 
  • Project Management: Experience leading complex research projects from inception to completion, managing timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.
