About the Role:

The Staff Accountant will help continue to grow our Finance function and maintain the general ledger and recording of financial transactions. You will support all aspects of financial accounting, including billing operations and month-end close processes. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to understand and communicate accounting treatment and support Chief’s growth. Reporting to the Revenue Accounting Manager, you will have an exciting opportunity to implement processes and best practices for a high-growth and mission-driven company.

The ideal candidate will have accounting experience, a plus if in the technology industry, and be able to operate in a fast growth environment. This person is a self-starter who is organized, highly analytical, collaborative and a problem solver. Responsibilities:

  • Play an essential role in the month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and supporting reconciliations
  • Perform all areas of accounting for accounts receivable: creating invoices, processing change requests, managing payments, follow up with aged past due invoices, and resolve discrepancies with customers
  • Challenge the “status quo” by supporting process improvements to streamline and shorten the month-end close timelines
  • Assist with the year-end financial statement audit to ensure a smooth and timely process

What We're Looking For:

  • Relevant accounting and operations experience, including experience with technology, SaaS, or membership business models
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Experience with Quickbooks, Netsuite, Chargebee, and Salesforce is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; experience in customer or client service is a plus
  • Proven organizational and critical thinking skills, with a high attention to detail and a strong personal commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Passion for the Company’s mission, positioning and brand -- to empower women in business and spark change from the top
  • Based in distance to commute to New York City is preferable
