Position Overview

The full-time Catering Operations Specialist position is a crucial role in executing daily operations at our client offices. Their main objective is to deliver and act as the onsite catering associate while providing exceptional, above-and-beyond customer service through delivering on time and with accuracy and to execute a seamless meal at our client offices every time. This position understands the importance of reliability, consistency and Chewse’s goal of providing on-time service. This position also partners with other operations departments such as Customer Experience, Customer Service and our Account Managers,  and Operations Managers to reach this goal. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. 

Position Reports To: Operations Managers, Assistant Operations Manager and/or Operations Supervisors depending on location

Responsibilities + Duties

  • Understands the importance of providing excellent hospitality consistently to clients, positive relationship building is key to our business model
  • Is accurate and timely with delivery, setup, service and clean up
  • Actively works to improve the experience of clients through ensuring meal accuracy and timeliness and tidy presentations. Always having professional and respectful communications that represent our company values. 
  • Executes seamless order pick up:
    • Represents our brand of Hospitality & Customer Service, is a brand ambassador
    • Checks meal accuracy with provided app information
    • Communicates with the vendor and Help Desk about any order issues before delivery to the client
  • Executes a seamless delivery and catering experience:
    • On time
    • Accurate
    • Meal Setup should be tidy and following the setup instructions and Presentation professional and consistent
    • Display menus  and labels with dietary information
    • Serve and replenish dishes as needed. Leave space clean and free of spills
    • Return equipment and leftovers to Chewse office
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency when completing deliveries 
  • Stays for the entirety of meal to ensure client satisfaction 
  • Confirms orders ahead of the shift
  • Acts as a liaison between clients and Chewse office team members 
  • Meets at manager’s designated location for pickup and drop off of materials  and equipment 
  • Reports accurate feedback on the client's meal via Zendesk and other communication platforms 
  • Communicates effectively, actively and professionally with:
    • Ops Team Members (Delivery Drivers, Help Desk, Dispatching, Operations Managers)
    • All Chewse Team Members
    • Vendors
    • Clients
  • Maintains a safe working environment, by refraining from horseplay, following process and using equipment for intended purposes as directed. Reports any unsafe conditions or situations to a manager directly and reports any workplace accidents or injuries immediately to a manager or our People Team (Human Resources)
  • Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and client information
  • May be required to perform other tasks and duties including:
    • Inventory
    • Bag Packing
    • Dishwashing
    • Leftover Donation
  • May have the opportunity to learn additional skills and train in specialized responsibilities

Experience + Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • Has a car with a valid driver license, registration, and insurance; must have constant access to a reliable vehicle
  • Vehicle must be able to fit a minimum of 4 Chewse delivery bags (23”x13”x15”)
  • Has a minimum of 2 years driving experience in the US
  • Can lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Has a smartphone and can navigate phone apps easily
  • Has and can maintain a clean driving record and will pass MVR checks
  • Customer service driven
  • Flexible and professional but friendly with a positive attitude and passion for learning
  • Strong understanding  and implementation of timeliness
  • Possesses focused attention to detail and solid organizational and prioritization skills while working quickly and accurately under pressure 
  • Is able to speak confidently and comfortably, and read a room to make appropriate communication style choices according to the needs of the audience
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization 
  • Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on the changing needs of the business
  • Understands food safety guidelines
  • 1 Year of delivery or hospitality experience is a plus but not required
