Job Description

At Chefman & CHEF iQ, we understand that the only way to realize our ambitious visions to craft the most desired kitchen appliance products and to redefine the art of cooking is by assembling extremely high caliber engineers to join our Engineering and Product Development Teams. It goes without saying that we cannot deliver best-in-class products without high caliber talent working on the development and build out of our products. The impact and importance of this role is therefore key to our ability to realize our ambitious vision.

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible as the coordinator of an integrated, interdisciplinary product team of Software, Hardware, Firmware, UX/UI, as well as Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, and Product

Management in the development of next generation of innovative smart kitchen appliances.

Roles & Responsibilities

· Develop and document detailed electronic hardware specifications from higher-level system specifications and user/customer requirements

· Responsible to discuss and develop solutions to difficult/complex issues with both internal and external stakeholders (customers, suppliers, internal management, etc.)

· Perform trade-off studies to determine the preferred implementation scenario for new or changed functions. Get agreement with stakeholders

· Coordinate the development of complex mechanical and/or electro-mechanical mechanisms including designs, drawings, performance predictions and verification requirements and support briefings to management team

· Interact intensively with colleagues from the SW, HW, FW and UI/UX teams to insure information as well as integration and testing meets the specifications of the product

· Define, document and maintain specifications of the electrical architecture, electrical modules and electrical infrastructure

· Conduct and coordinate system and subsystem level integration/testing, data collection, and analyzing the effectiveness of the resulting data

· Manage the outsourcing of development activities at co-developers if required

· Manage and solve problems during system integration

· Maintain knowledge and roadmap concerning the product development within Chefman

· Contribute to the multidisciplinary roadmap

· Act as a technical coach for designers and other team members

Required Skills & Experience

· Knowledge of REST APIs, distributed architecture, and microservices

· Ability to contribute to high level Software Design discussions

· Good understanding of how the internet works and how software applications are built (from front-end to backend to everything in between)

· Knowledge of at least one high level programming language (Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.)

· Knowledge of embedded software and firmware development, including C and C++

· Ability to read schematics and debug digital hardware

· Knowledge of Solid Works is a plus

· Excellent problem solving & troubleshooting skills

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Ownership mentality – desire to deliver top quality at right cost and the right time

· The position requires a highly motivated, extremely organized and self-driven individual

Minimum Qualifications

· BSEE, BSCS, BSME or equivalent

· Advanced degrees welcome

· 5+ years of Electronics Systems Development

· Multiple years of experience as designer of electronic functions and sub-systems, including experience with working in multidisciplinary design teams to establish agreement on specifications

· Broad technical knowledge of electronics, mechanics, and software

· Knowledge and experience with electronic systems design and specification as well as knowledge and experience of computer systems
