About this role:
We are seeking an experienced iOS engineer to help us build and grow Cheddar’s thriving business news network. You’ll be joining a lean team of passionate engineers and designers who care deeply about delivering amazing experiences to hundreds of thousands of daily viewers. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work across a variety of platforms, engaging with cutting edge technology for web, mobile, OTT, and broadcast. We are looking for someone who is excited to learn, tackle new challenges, and make an incredible impact on our products.
You should have proven experience building iOS apps that are available in the App Store and be extremely capable in Swift. If you happen to have a bit of experience with Android, too that would be fantastic, but is not required. You will be working closely with other engineers, and ideally you are familiar with cross-platform mobile frameworks and hybrid mobile technologies or very keen to learn. We welcome new ideas, tools, and technologies, and you should be eager to share and teach as a part of our collaborative team. This is a lead position and will be expected to mentor, pair, and provide technical leadership to junior mobile engineers on our team.
We are excited by what we’re building, and we care about the quality of our code, as well as our user experience. We will expect you to balance high standards and thoughtful development with a pragmatic approach to getting things done. Our culture is fast-moving, and engineers who like to work on a wide variety of projects, try new technologies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams thrive with us. If this sounds like you, we’d love to talk.
Required Skills and Experience:
- At least 4 years of professional experience in software and mobile engineering, including experience with consumer-facing mobile apps
- Experience architecting, developing, and implementing product features and improvements
- Strong experience with iOS and a willingness to learn cross-platform technologies
- Strong familiarity with Swift
- Excited to explore technologies, develop new skills, and share knowledge
- Flexible, pragmatic, and oriented toward finding solutions
- Communicative, collaborative, and open-minded, with a track record of working cross-functionally
