THE TEAM + YOU

Chartbeat's New Business team is in search of an Account Executive (AE) who is positive, enthusiastic and ready to help rapidly grow our worldwide client list to sell our real-time editorial and newsroom analytics and our Tubular social video analytics offering in EMEA. The AE provides proactive outreach to Chartbeat’s prospects and communicates the value of Chartbeat’s editorial analytics suite and Tubular Labs social video analytics offering via video conference calls, demos, emails, and other 1:1 publisher engagement efforts. This role requires a combination of consultative selling and sales management skills to build a spirit of close partnership with sophisticated media organizations. 

 

The Account Executive reports to the Head of Sales, EMEA & APAC and strives to win new business for Chartbeat, managing all aspects—from prospect outreach to on-trial management to contract negotiation and finally through to contract close—with media companies and publishers in EMEA.  Ultimately, the AE seeks to understand media organizations’ varied business challenges, corresponding metrics of success and makes every effort to demonstrate how powerful and valuable Chartbeat will be to their overall digital strategy. 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Prospect and win new business from media companies and publishers of all sizes in EMEA.
  • Understands how to engage prospects at the top of the funnel to create meetings and grow the pipeline. 
  • Follow up on high-priority inbound leads.
  • Proactively reach out to prospective new customers on various outbound channels via targeted email, calls, Linkedin Sales Navigator.
  • Empower new prospects to understand the value of Chartbeat’s and Tubular analytics suite and related workflow tools in building a loyal and engaged audience over time.
  • Understand prospective customers’ business goals and KPIs and adapt presentations to align to the prospects’ stated needs.
  • Plan and execute qualification calls, conduct virtual demos, manage “on trial” prospects, negotiate and finalize work orders and provide a seamless transition of signed clients to Tubular and Chartbeat's Customer Success team.
  • Provide Chartbeat leadership with clear visibility into activity, pipeline & quarterly sales goals.
  • Exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience selling media-oriented SAAS solutions.
  • Candidates should possess an existing network within the media industry, preferably with connections among publishers.
  • Demonstrated consultative selling, objection-handling and prospect-oriented demo skills, preferably in support of SAAS, cloud, media, marketing or web-analytics platforms.
  • Enthusiasm for the opportunity to interact with and help the leaders of digital newsrooms is highly desired (and crucial to your success).
  • Proven results consistently exceeding aggressive sales quotas.
  • Ability to work independently and to effectively handle numerous and often simultaneous priorities and prospects at all stages of the sales funnel.
  • Must have the ability to craft clear and concise memos, presentations and emails - our clients believe in the power of the written world and so does Chartbeat.
  • Excellent persuasive speaking, presentation, price and contract negotiation skills are a must.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CRM (Salesforce) is essential. Proficiency in Excel is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in a second language in addition to English is required, with a preference for Spanish, French, Arabic or any of the Scandinavian languages (such as Swedish, Norwegian, or Danish).
  • EMEA-based, with UK/FR/Spain preferred
